Diana Mendez was born and raised in Boyle Heights,
a longstanding, historic neighborhood in the Northeast area
of Los Angeles, California. A product of Mexican-American
parents, Diana, who is fully bilingual in English and Spanish,
gleaned two powerful traits from her parents: a strong work ethic and immeasurable creativity.

With a resume that began in her adolescence, Diana has never been one to shy away from an opportunity to work and was sure to learn as much as she could from each experience she had. This is evident in her impeccable record in sales,

which she accomplished during her twenty five years of experience as a Sales Manager. A self-described “high-achiever” in career endeavors, Diana always met or exceeded her goals.

In 1981, Diana began her career in the furniture design industry. In 1999, Diana was able to apply her expertise in sales and furniture when she became design consultant to her son Joseph’s furniture business, Buena Vista Furniture, which specializes in Rustic Hacienda. Joseph, a graduate of Cal Poly Pomona with a degree in International Business, and his wife, Diana, make an excellent team of Buena Vista Furniture. Ten years after its establishment, Buena Vista Furniture is a thriving business with locations in Los Angeles and Orange County.

The success of the store is evidence of Diana's years of dedication in the industry, as well as her persevering, visionary spirit.

In her fifties, Diana returned to school to earn her Interior Design certificate from the Interior Design Institute in Los Angeles. She graduated in the top of her class as a result to her dedication to excellence, as well as her extensive knowledge of the interior design business.

After twenty nine years in the business, leaving at the top of her game servicing high-end clientele and working for the very prestigious firm, Baker Knapp and Tubbs at the Pacific Design Center in West Hollywood she decided to launch her own interior design firm. Textiles being her passion, she decided to specialize in window fashion treatment which allows her to create and color-coordinate any interior space. Ms. Mendez’s strength is in creating a cohesive, color-coordinated space for her clients. She is now able to put her years of experience and expertise into action to display her unique style and design flare.

She was an integral member of the team that created the Presenters’ Lounge at the 2010 Golden Globes. Diana represents the perfect blend of vision and determination; and now embarks on her next career endeavor, Villa Design/Diana Mendez Interiors. Her enthusiasm for making the ordinary special and beautiful sustains to this day.

Diana Mendez finds delight in salsa dancing, Latin music and spending time at the beach. She also enjoys crafting delicious dishes for friends and family, especially her three beautiful grandchildren.
